Nice show. I have been listening for sometime and enjoy your reviews. I am an aspiring PB author. One of you mentioned on the show whether publishers would be interested in books from a husband/wife team. Absolutely. There is high demand for author/illustrator so I see a team as being pretty much the same thing. You have the advantage of being able convey the full package of text and art. I highly encourage joining SCBWI and attending their events, if they have a FB group/blog interacting with members there. If you listen to podcasts, I recommend Katie Davis's Brain Burps which is all about kidlit. Some blog sites I like for PBs are Picture Book Den (http://picturebookden.blogspot.com/) and The Meter Maids blog on rhyming(http://www.themetermaids.blogspot.com/)
Books on Writing I would recommend are Writing Picture Books by Ann Whitford Paul, Writing with Pictures by Uri Shulevitz (takes a visual approach to writing, and the Plot Whisperer by Martha Alderson.
